Jasprit Bumrah & co reach Dublin for T20I series against Ireland

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian cricket team led by Jasprit Bumrah, reached Dublin on Tuesday for the three match T20I series against Ireland. Bumrah, who is coming back from a long injury lay-off, has been entrusted with the captaincy role for the series. The team comprises several new faces like Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma who are also slated to participate in the forthcoming Asian Games 2023. Several players have been given a chance to make their mark on the field once again, eager to showcase their skills. Notably, Bumrah himself is making a comeback after nearly 11 months since his last appearance for the team.

Prasidh Krishna, another key player, is also making a return, infusing more depth into the team’s bowling prowess. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the talented batsman, has been appointed as the vice-captain for the series and will lead the team in the Asian Games. Remarkably, there are as many as 11 players who are part of both squads.

Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma, who were part of the recent white ball series series against West Indies have already reached Dublin from Florida. The first match of the series will be played on August 18 followed by remaining two games on August 19 and 21 respectively. All the matches will be played at the Malahide Cricket Club.
