Xtra Time Web Desk : It is clearly a repeat of history as SC East Bengal go without a win in their last seven games this season. While their latest 2-0 defeat against North East United adds more to their performance woes.

Following this, it is clearly seen that something is not right with the Red and Gold as they sit bottom of the ISL table, with only three points.
It was V.P Suhair (60th) and Patrick Flottmann (68th) who made the difference against SC East Bengal, taking the Highlanders above to the seventh spot, securing the crucial three points.
At the start of the first half, the Red and Gold took charge of the game with quick attacks in the early minutes, while North East struggled to hold onto the counter-attacks. The Highlanders looked lost of composer in the early minutes and that may be the sign of too many changes in the starting eleven.

However, later Nort East skipper Khassa Camara took the responsibility to organize his team’s play as he was seen all around the pitch. But both the teams had shown a downgrade play in the first half which was pretty much expected from the bottom sides.

In the last minutes of the game East Bengal got two chances to opening the scoring but both were labelled as failed as Antonio Perosevic and Daniel Chukwu struggled to control the ball in the penalty box. Following which the disappointing half ended with a 0-0 score.

Returning for second half, the Highlanders look a team with plan as they constantly kept asking question to the East Bengal defense. While North East were awarded for that approach as they broke the deadlock at the hour mark. A quick counter attack launch by Nort East attackers was finished by V.P Suhair putting the ball in net which looked a like miss scoring chance.

While within just eight minutes the Highlanders doubled the lead after the Red and Gold gave away a silly freekick near the penalty box. Imran Khan took a quick free kick which was curl ball towards the near post which was headed into the goal by Patrick Flottmann as no one marked him.

After conceding two quick goals East Bengal looked a bit frustrated as they were giving up possession easily. While North East were still searching for a third goal to extended their lead. However, eventually the game ended with a scoreline of 2-0, with East Bengal putting up yet another poor performance.

In the next fixture, SC East Bengal will be taking on Hyderabad FC, while North East will be against ATK Mohun Bagan.
