ISL 2018/19: Komal Thatal’s brilliance goes in vain, as BFC hands ATK another defeat

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian football’s one of the brighest sensations Komal Thatal’s first ever goal in Indian football goes in vain, as goals by Miku and Erik Paartalu secured three improtant points for Bengaluru FC on Wednesday as they beat ATK by a margin of 2-1.

For ATK, it was another frustrating evening at the Salt Lake Stadium as they first went 1-0 up courtesy of a wonderful strike by Komal Thatal. However, they lost the lead in the first half itself as ATK conceded two.

A sensational goal from the free kick first equalized it for Sunil Chhetri’s team followed by a right-footed thunderbolt by Aussie international Erik Paartalu gave a crucial victory to the Blues.

ATK came close to equalize not once but twice, but first Everton’s shot was brilliantly saved by Gurpreet and then Gerson’s header went wide after hitting the cross-piece.
