Xtra Time Web Desk: Defending champions Gujarat Titans outplayed Mumbai Indians by 55 runs in a Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The home team's highest-ever score was largely due to impressive batting performances from Shubman Gill (56), Abhinav Manohar (42) and David Miller (46). Gill hit a fluent fifty, while Manohar and Miller put on a sensational power-hitting show, scoring a combined 88 runs off just 42 balls.

In response, the Mumbai Indians got off to a poor start, losing captain Rohit Sharma in the second over. The situation worsened as Rashid Khan spun a web to remove Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma in the eighth over, leaving MI reeling at 45 for three. Cameron Green (33) and Suryakumar Yadav (23) made some valuable contributions, but their efforts were in vain as the Gujarat Titans' spin duo of Rashid Khan (27/2) and Noor Ahmad (37/3) restricted the visitors to 152 for nine in their allotted overs.

Rashid Khan finished with impressive figures of 2/27 in four overs, while Noor Ahmad took three wickets, conceding just 37 runs in his full quota of overs. Earlier, Arjun Tendulkar provided the first breakthrough for MI, dismissing Wriddhiman Saha in the third over. Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya then got rid of Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill, respectively, to dent the Gujarat Titans' charge.

However, Manohar and Miller's 71-run partnership in just 38 balls gave the home team the impetus they needed. Miller's explosive 22-ball 46 and Tewatia's unbeaten 20 in five balls took the Gujarat Titans to an impressive total of 207 for six, which proved to be too much for the Mumbai Indians to chase down.
