Xtra Time Web Desk : Life of a groundsman isn't easy at all. These people have actually been the people, who have played the game of cricket as beautiful as it looks in today's world. But the inner world of these groundsmen have been full of struggles since eternity.

One such person is the 57 year old Vasant Mohite, currently a groundsman at the Wankhede Stadium, whose life had been synonymous with hardships as he had to stay till late night after the IPL matches, till the last season and had to sleep in a small room inside the stadium, amidst the mosquitoes, because of the non availability of trains to return home.

But this season, 'A miracle' as termed by Mohite himself changed his life completely as Cadbury took the responsibilities for the fooding and five star lodging of all the groundsmen under a welfare programme of theirs.

“A miracle. Then one day, MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) told us that Cadbury would take care of our accommodation (for the season). They would give us clothes and food for the next two months of IPL," said an elated Vasant.

"Walking to the dressing room is different now. We have our own bus which drops us. We don’t have words… the only thing we can say is thank you,” said another groundsman in Nitin Mohite.
