IPL 2021: These four South African cricketers will miss opening games for their franchises due to this reason

South African ODI cricketers are likely to miss the opening games for their respective franchises in IPL 2021.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) is likely to miss the service of South African wicket keeper batsman Quinton de Kock in the opening match of upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai on April 09. The South African cricketers will be involved in a three match ODI series against Pakistan. The Proteas ODI cricketers, part of different IPL franchises will be able to arrive in India on April 8 after playing the third and final ODI on April 07. This will mean players like De Kock, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Norjte are likely to miss opening games for MI, CSK, and DC

Four IPL franchises will miss their South African stalwarts in the opening game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Kagiso Rabada (Delhi Capitals), Quinton de Kock (Mumbai Indians), Anrich Nortje (Delhi Capitals) and David Miller (Rajasthan Royals) are part of the South Africa ODI squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan.

It is worth noting that out of the four Proteas’, it is the Delhi Capitals  pacer duo of Nortje and Rabada, who will be missed the most. They both form DC’s lethal fast bowling unit. The duo played a crucial role to lead the Capitals to their maiden IPL final last year. Together, they were the second-highest wicket-taking pair with 52 wickets to their name.
