XtraTime Web Desk: Two-time Indian Premier League winner Kolkata Knight Riders won their titles back in 2012 & 2014 respectively under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy. Though after they have reached the play-offs many times but failed to make it to the finals. In the last season under new captain Dinesh Karthik’s captaincy they had a poor start but later the team took momentum in the tournament and reached the play-offs.
The Knights beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first qualifier in Kolkata, but couldn’t progress thereafter as they lost in the second eliminator. In the meantime, the franchise has shared the list of released and retained players for the next edition.
