Kolkata: An enthralling innings from Ishan Kishan and some fierce hitting by Ben Cutting help Mumbai Indians thrash Kolkata Knight Riders by 102 runs to clinch their fifth win in the Indian Premier League at the Eden Gardens today.

It was a dominant show by the defending champions, who had earlier finished their innings at 210-6.

Ishan scored a stunning 62(21) and Cutting took only 9 balls to score 24 to finish the Mumbai innings on a high.

Nothing seemed right for the hosts as wickets were collapsing like nine pins.

Uthappa and Lynn had a promising partnership, but after they departed, no one showed the glimpse of a comeback. Andre Russell and Rinku Singh departed for two and five respectively, Piyush Chawla (11) managed to score in double figures. Kuldeep Yadav (5 runs) was the last man to depart as MI completed a dominant win.

While the Pandya brothers-Hardik and Krunal- picked up two wickets each, the rest of the bowlers owned one wicket.

With this win, MI have 10 points and they have occupied the fourth spot in the IPL points table removing Kolkata Knight Riders.
