IPL 2018: Dhoni’s effort goes in vain, KXIP pulls out a stunner against Chennai Super Kings

XtraTime Web Desk: Kings XI Punjab beat Chennai Super Kings by four runs in a dramatic game At Mohali. The home side posted a total of 197 by the loss of 7 wickets Chris Gayle scored 63 runs in just 33 balls while another opener Lokesh Rahul scored 37 runs in 22 deliveries. Karun Nair also played a handy inning of 29 in 17 deliveries.
Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur picked couple of wickets each for CSK.

In reply, Chennai Super Kings managed to score 193 runs for the loss of five wickets. Both the openers failed to give a perfect start to the visitors as they went back to the pavilion early. The score was 39 for 2 in 4.1 overs. Ambati Raidu, skipper MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja played well but the effort was not enough. CSK skipper Dhoni scored 79* in 44 deliveries.

On the other hand Andrew Tye got two wickets by giving 47 runs in his 4 overs Ashwin got a wicket. Afgan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman was very effective as he conceded only 18 runs in 3 overs.

With this win Kings XI Punjab moved to second spot with 4 points in three matches.
