Image Source: twitter[/caption] Internet Desk: A match winning 69 runs from Manish Pandey helped Kolkata Knight Riders register a four wickets win over Delhi Daredevils. It was a hat-trick of wins for the two time champions at the Feroze Shah Kotla on Monday. The win also took the purple army on top of the points table. Chasing 169 runs to win, the Knights chased the target with a ball to spare with Pandey remaining not out on 69 runs and Yusuf Pathan contributing a valuable 59 runs off 39 balls. Pandey’s knock included four hits to the fence and three towering sixes while the senior Pathan struck six boundaries and two hits over the fence. Daredevils skipper Zaheer Khan gave his team a perfect start by removing Colin de Grandhomme and in-form Gautam Gambhir (14) while Pat Cummins sent back one down Robin Uthappa (4) to reduce the visitors to 21/3. The New Zealander replaced Sunil Narine at the top of the batting order for KKR. Thereafter, Yusuf Pathan (59) and Manish Pandey batted sensibly to resurrect the visitors' innings with a 110-run fourth wicket stand, as KKR went past the 100-run mark with ease in the 13th over. The 34-year-old Pathan brought up his first half century of this year's IPL in style by dispatching Zaheer for a flat six over long on. It also brought the 100-run partnership between him and Manish in 66 balls. Pandey, at the other end, played the perfect second fiddle, by hitting the occasional boundaries to get to his half century off 37 balls. Just when the match seemed to be slipping out of Delhi's hands, South African all-rounder Chris Morris removed Pathan to raise hopes for the home team. Soon to follow was Surya Kumar Yadav(7) who holed out to Cummins for a simple catch to Zaheer. Needing nine from the last over, Mishra got Chris Woakes stumped off his second delivery but couldn't prevent Pandey from hitting him for a six off the fourth ball and then leaked two runs off the next to lose the tie. For Delhi Daredevils, skipper Zaheer Khan (2/28) and Pat Cummins (2/39) impressed with the ball. Earlier, Sunil Narine and Nathan Coulter- Nile's controlled bowling effort enabled Kolkata Knight Riders restrict Delhi Daredevils to 168 for seven despite a smashing innings from Rishabh Pant. The Daredevils openers Sanju Samson and Sam Billings got the team off to a blazing smart as they put a quick 53-run opening stand but after the two got dismissed, KKR bowlers led by Nathan Coulter-Nile dominated the middle overs to put a leash on the increasing run-rate. For Delhi, it was young Pant, who smashed 38 off 16 balls to take the team past 160-run mark. The young batsman from Delhi launched a furious assault on Umesh Yadav, hitting him for three sixes and two fours in the 17th over. The Knight Riders bowler went for 26 runs in the over. Coulter-Nile was the pick of the Kolkata bowlers, finishing with impressive figures of three for 22, while Narine chipped in with economical one for 20.
