XtraTime Web Desk: Virat Kohli’s gesture, reaction regarding the “Spiderman catch” by AB de Villiers is perhaps a perfect example of the rich tradition of the ‘gentleman’s game’.

Players like Sunil Gavaskar, Imran Khan, Sachin Tendulkar  Brian Lara, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers shown mutual respect to each other.

Two big stars of Modern day cricket Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers also have mutual respect to each other.

Sunil Gavaskar and Imran Khan: Imran Khan, the Pakistani cricketing legend has a huge respect for another Indian legend Sunil Gavasakar as he said, “Sachin never played an innings like Gavaskar did. Look, Gavaskar faced a West Indies attack that had four world class fast bowlers. His record does not tell his actual contribution. I always felt sorry for him when he, alone, used to face a range of fast bowlers when there were none in his own country before Kapil Dev arrived on the scene,”

Gavaskar praised Imran by saying, “He was a born leader. He was the most dangerous bowler.”

Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara: It was a big debate in late 90’s that who is the best batsman in the World? But, these two greats shown respect to each other. As Tendulkar once said that, “It’s always been a joy to play against him. I loved watching Brian scoring runs against other nations, not India.”

Lara was also complimented the Master blaster by saying, “The only batsman I would love to      see by paying for the tickets and sitting in the stand just to watch him is none other than Sachin Tendulkar.”

Virat Kholi and AB de Villiers: Virat Kohli yesterday described South African star AB de Villiers as “Spider man.” After the match Kohli said, “AB’s catch was Spider man stuff, you don’t do that as normal human beings. His shots still leave me in awe, the fielding unbelievable.”

On the other side AB also praised Virat by saying, “In 2011 Virat was asking me for tips now, I ask him.”
