Internet Desk: Prior to the Olympic journey Indian women’s hockey team got an important victory over world ranking no.5 USA. Chasing the practice Indian eves won it by 2-1.

India set their stage for preparation of Olympics at USA. The world no.13 had a lose in their first match against the host. Giving a good fight India lost the match by 2-3. In the second match they showed their talent which can make Indian supporters hopeful.

The first quarter of the match was goalless. USA strikers hit hard on the Indian box. However, Indian defenders saved all their attempts. Before India settled down in the second quarter USA scored in the fourth minute of the second quarter.

India struggled up to the end of the third quarter of the match. However, they continued hitting on the USA box after conceiving the goal. At the end of the third quarter Preeti Dubey scored the equalizer. Later in the fourth quarter Lilima Minz scored to confirm the win of India. However, Indian defenders continued to put effort to save the win as USA put their every effort to save lose to India.

After lose in the first practice match Indian coach Neil Hawgood praised his players for their fighting spirit. This win will obviously boost the players to play better at Rio. However, they have another chance to rectify their minus points as they have another practice match against Canada yesterday. India is hopeful of a win against Canada as they are trailing in the ranking table to India. If they lose to Canada the preparation for their Olympic run will be in deep water.
