The opener brought up his 7th test century at the Centurion and remains not-out on second day with a score of 122 from 248 balls, smashing 17 boundaries and one six.
On beginning of second day India stands confidently at a score of 273 with fall of 3 wickets, all of which were taken by Lungi Ngidi. The pacer took Cheteshwar Pujara for a golden duck. Skipper Virat Kohli’s wicket fell to a loose shot when he had scored 35 off 94. Rahane looks in a good form and along with Rahul both of them are expected to start second day on a strong note.
