In India, you’ve to learn how to bowl reverse swing: Jasprit Bumrah after claiming six-wickets against England

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah produced a devastating spell of fast bowling as he claimed 6/45 on the second day of the ongoing second test against England on Saturday. Bumrah by picking 6 wickets also reached the milestone of 150 wickets in 34 tests. He became the second youngest pacer to do so after Waqar Younis who took 27 test matches. It was a display of lethal reverse swing bowling as England batters were rattled. Joe Root (5), Ollie Pope (23), Jonny Bairstow (25) and England skipper Ben Stokes (47) were all victims of his brilliance.

“You always enjoy when you get rewards. In India, reverse swing plays a big role. Born in this country, you know how to use it to your advantage. In India, you have to learn how to bowl reverse,” Bumrah said during the post day’s play press conference in Vizag.

The 30-year-old added, “I’ve grown up watching reverse swing set-ups, legendary bowlers bowling magical deliveries. To be able to do it now, very happy with that. When you bowl reverse, people try to bowl magical deliveries every other ball. You have to be patient with that. Have to set the batters up. Have to use deliveries wisely. Can’t just bowl inswing outswing, inswing outswing.”
