Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be arranging for door-step COVID-19 tests on UK bound Indian cricketers and support staffs in a bid to ensure full proof safety for everyone involved in the touring party. The BCCI drew enough flak after the IPL 2021 had to be suspended with multiple players getting tested positive for COVID-19. Hence the Indian cricket board is not taking any chances with the players and support staffs who will be entering a bio bubble in the country, before leaving for UK on June 2.

Following the suspension of the IPL 2021due to multiple COVID 19 cases among the franchises, players returned to their residences and it is very much expected that BCCI would create a bio bubble of its own in India for a week for the well-being of the players and their families before they leave for UK. As per recent reports, it is evident that all the players and their family members accompanying them would receive COVID 19 tests before joining the BCCI's bio bubble in Mumbai on May 23.

The players would be tested for the virus in the traditional method before entering bio bubble. It is quite evident BCCI would do anything and everything for ensuring the safety of the players and the integrity of the bio bubble

The 20 member strong Indian team under Virat Kohli will take on New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship in Southampton starting from June 18 followed by a five match test series against England.

As 90% of the UK-bound players have already received their first jabs, they will need the 2nd dose within the next three months. With the team in England for the next three and half months, players will not be able to come back for a vaccine. Hence, the BCCI is trying to arrange for the 2nd dose in the UK.
