Md-Shami-06Kolkata , December 21 : After being sidelined for almost 8 months Mohammad Shami will be eager to prove himself in the upcoming India’s tour of Australia. Shami  last played a ODI match on 26th march 2015 in the World Cup semifinal at Sydney against World champions Australia. His best spell in the World Cup was 35/4 against Pakistan. Shami who was India’s best bowler in ICC World Cup with 17 wickets has been out of action after sustaining a knee injury . Shami made his come back with Bengal in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Bengal fast bowler took three wickets with  an average of 30.66. On being asked about his comeback, he felt ” It was very painful to be sidelined for a very long time. But I am happy to be selected in the Indian team. I want to prove that I am not finished yet and wish I can replicate my old form”. Generally it takes time for a fast bowler to recuperating from an Injury. Recently Dale Steyn suffered a groin injury in the Mohali test and was ruled out of the remaining three tests. Despite not having played for India since March, Shami is the team's fourth-highest wicket-taker in ODIs this year with 19 from 11 matches, 17 of which came in eight matches during the World Cup. Shami has played 12 tests,47 ODIs and 4 T20Is for India. “I have not reduced my bowling run up. I didn’t change my bowling run up also. I bowled with the same bowling action in the Vijay Hazare” revealed the right arm paceman. Before the World Cup Shami has earlier played in the test and ODI series in Australia. MS Dhoni will have to rely heavily on Shami to give breakthrough . “I have played in Australia before , so I have a fair idea what the conditions will be like . I know how to bowl there” Shami sounds confident. Commenting on seniors like Yuvraj and Nehra making it into the Indian team , “Yuvraj and Ashish Nehera has made a comeback to the Indian team. The team will be well balanced with a mixture of experienced players and young players.” .
