Image Source: AIFF[/caption] Internet Desk: Kingfisher East Bengal registered their second successive away victory at Tilak Maidan, Vasco against a competitive Churchill Brothers side today to relive their title opportunities. The Red and Gold brigade had a tentative start to the game with an unchanged line up after a hard fought victory at Pune against DSK Shivajians. After a shaky half an hour at the start, Trevor Morgan's side started playing some commendable attacking football against the Goan side who were bolstered by their two foreigners in this game. The brilliance from the attacking force will no doubt make the East Bengal gaffer happy as his team managed to do their desired task of confirming 6 points from their two away games to keep themselves in a formidable position in the league table after the first three games. East Bengal scored the opening goal of the game when U22 player Nikhil Poojary made a brilliant run from the right and brought in a dangerous cross. Adil Khan cleared the early danger but Nikhil once again headed in a fine pass for Semboi Haokip and the forward scored from a precision header. Churchill responded back immediately when Richard Costa tested the Red and Gold custodian from distance which was punched over the cross bar by Rehenesh. East Bengal came close to score again in the 41st minute when Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenye missed the header narrowly. Just before the half time, Lalrindika Ralte scored an exceptional goal when his venomous in-swinging corner kick went straight to the goal, leaving the entire Churchill defense completely perplexed. The second half was literally an exhibition of missing chances especially for East Bengal as Wedson, Plaza, Amirov and Jackichand missed series of opportunities. Especially in the 63rd minute,  Wedson missed the easiest chance of the game when he failed to place the ball at an open goal. Churchill came closest in the 79th minute of the game Agnelo Colaco's breathtaking effort came back from the underneath of the crossbar. Kyrgyz international Ildar Amirov too got a fine opportunity when Wedson found him in the 81st minute but his feeble effort went straight to the Churchill goalkeeper Priyant. Wedson missed another great opportunity in the 86th minute when his shot went inches wide of the far post. In the 93rd minute of the game Ildar Amirov delivered a delightful ball for Jackichand Singh but his header went straight to Priyant from a handshaking distance. The emphatic victory keeps East Bengal with 7 points from 3 games, similar to Aizwal FC but ahead of them in the goal difference. The Red and Gold brigade will play their next fixture at home against the defending champions Bengaluru FC and the two back to back away victories will certainly make them confident ahead of facing Albert Roca's side at The Barasat Stadium.
