I-League 2018/19: Unstoppable East Bengal clinch another thumping win over Shillong Lajong

XtraTime Web Desk: Quess East Bengal seems unstoppable right now, as the Red and Gold brigade continued their winning run with a thumping 3-1 win over Shillong Lajong away from home.

After a stimulating win at Imphal against Neroca FC the other day, East Bengal started their second game high on confidence. It took only 12 minutes on the clock when Lalrindika Ralte dellivered an immaculate free kick from the right for Jobby Justin, who fired a brilliant header to silence the home fans and made it 1-0.




Jobby scored another fine goal to double the lead in the 41st minute when Enrique became the provider with a fine assist.




East Bengal had a sudden lapse of concentration in the second half and Rakesh Pradhan took the full toll of it with a glancing header to make it 2-1.




The insurance goal came from young substitute Vidyasagar Singh ran almost 10 yards by following a miss pass by Lajong defender Aiban and slotted it home with a stunning finish to make it 3-1.




The win helps East Bengal to go on top of the points table with 6 points off two away games.
