Hockey World Cup: India play out a thrilling draw with Belgium

India remain top of Group C because of their superior goal difference as they drew against Belgium. India struggled in the first half as Belgium scored within the first quarter of the match as Hendricks came up with the perfect drag flick in the 8th minute of the game.

The men in blue earned a penalty stroke as Harmanpreet’s flick takes the leg of a Belgian defender at the goal line. Harmanpreet equalized in the 40th minute. Simranjeet scored his third goal of the tournament from a brilliant move as Khotajit ran along the goalline and he passed it square, Simranjeet kept his cool and scored in the 47 th minute.

Gougnard equalized for Belgium in the 56 th minute as he hit the ball through the legs of Sreejesh and the Indian goalkeeper had no answer.
