Fresh air in Indian football, I league gets a new team from Kashmir

Real Kashmir became the first team to reach the first division of the I League

XtraTime Web Desk: Real Kashmir advanced to the I League first division by beating Hindusthan FC 3-2 in the final day of I League second division in Bengaluru. Tariq Mir scored with help from Farooq to score the first goal for Kashmiri side. Hindustan FC equalised in the 34th minute. Danish put Real Kashmir in the lead again.

RKFC have piled up another goal. Bhutia has found the net for them. In the 80th minute, Hindustan FC scored again but it was not enough for them.

Veteran Kashmiri footballer Ishfaq Ahmed said, “It’s a fantastic result for our state. Mohun Bagan and East Bengal can play here. The Kashmiri players will also go to Kolkata to play against these two Kolkata giants. Many new players can come from this part of India to play the game as they got a good platform.”

“Kashmir is not that much untamed as you have seen in media. It would be great to play in Bengal soil.” Later he added.

Shamim Meraj, the owner of the club said, “It’s the first step still a long way to go. We have to prove ourselves in the first division I League.”

Another veteran Mehrajuddin Wadoo said, “Well done boys. I feel proud of you. Now spectators of Kashmir can watch Kolkata giants play here. “
