Kolkata: City giant East Bengal is in big trouble as the All India Football Federation has made it clear that if they fail to organize their first home game of the I-League 2017-18 at the Salt Lake Stadium against current title holders Aizawl FC, the federation might deduct three points from their kitty.
The East Bengal official thought that they won’t get the Salt lake Stadium as the ground needs atleast a rest for 48 hours between two games. Indian Super League franchise has a game against FC Pune City on October 26. The officials had given a letter to the AIFF to shift the venue to Barasat Stadium or change the date, but unfortunately the Federation doesn’t want to change the place or date of the match.
According to East Bengal top official Debabrata Sarkar,” We are trying our best to convince the AIFF, but they are not listing to us,”.
Now they are heavily relying on the Sports Minister of West Bengal Shree. Aroop Biswas, but he is currently not in Kolkata. Mr. Biswas has gone to visit North Bengal along with the Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt. Mamata Banerjee. The East Bengal officials will again urge to him to reconsider the decision when he will come back to Kolkata.
