Kolkata: Just after landing in the City of Joy on Monday midnight, Haitian superstar and the fan favourite of all the Bagan supporters Sony Norde joined the practice on Tuesday morning. A huge crowd of supporters was present at the Green and Maroon club ground to witness the haitian Hurricane where Sony was greeted with garlands.

However owing to tiredness Sony didn’t train with the team but remained on the sidelines and watched his team sweating it out. After having a discussion with Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen, Sony joined the players after the end of the training where he was greeted and welcomed by all.

Sony, the icon of Mohun Bagan was unwilling to open his mouth at the current moment. However the superstar has watched a couple of matches of France for the FIFA U17 World Cup and is also unsure whether he will watch the semies between Brazil and England at the Salt Lake Stadium.

However with the arrival of Sony, his fellow mates are delighted and star striker Dipanda Dicka claims that he is eager to play alongside him and with his (Sony’s) addition the Bagan squad has become much more stronger.

Australian Diogo Ferreira is happy on winning the Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup and is confident of positive results in the upcoming I-League. “I haven’t come here to win the Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup, I have come here to win everything, especially the I-League” said Diogo.

“Apart from foreigners, the Indian and local recruitment has also been good for the club and that is what makes the club every more stronger” added Diogo.

The Australian thinks that the U17 World Cup which is currently ongoing in India will serve as a betterment for Indian football in the long run.
