Anilava Chatterjee: Sushant Singh Rajput also wanted to act in a biopic of former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly. The talented actor visit Kolkata a year back to express his desire to Sourav Ganguly. It was a very confidential meeting between the two. The former India captain was busy with an advertisement shoot in a North Kolkata house. Ganguly knew about Sushant’s visit. He told Sushant to come straight to Laha residence in North Kolkata. The two discussed over the biopic in between the shoot for almost an hour.
The actor also tweeted a picture of his meeting with Sourav. He tweeted, “I couldn’t hold my excitement at all and get one expression right clicking pictures with dada, so excuse me for that. What a man, One of the greatest ever “
After the success of MS Dhoni, Sushant was appreciated in all circles for his versatile acting. Dada too praised Sushant on that day. Sushant told Sourav that he knew how to bat left handed. He even showed Sourav a few video clips of him batting left handed. The two agreed that whoever acts in the biopic has to be affluent with the basic skills of cricket.
The Kai Po Che actor also told Ganguly that since he played cricket it helped him to do the role of Dhoni in his biopic. As the biopic on Sourav did not go ahead, so did the discussion between the two. It would not have been surprising had Sushant Singh Rajput acted in the biopic of another successful Indian captain.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly heard the news about Sushant’s death on Sunday afternoon. The race of life at times does get very difficult.
