Kolkata: Indian football legend Subrata Bhattacharya makes a dramatic come back in Kolkata football as the legendary defender and coach returns back in coaching followed by a fruitful meeting with Bhawanipore FC’s top official Srinjoy Bose. Subrata responded to the proposal right after the meeting and Srinjoy handed him the contract paper immediately. Srinjoy Bose who happens to be the Assistant Secretary of Mohun Bagan as well had a bitter rivalry last season during the Mohun Bagan election when Subrata contested against Srinjoy’s candidate Satyajit Chatterjee in the Football Secretary post. The picture seems to have changed in a year’s time. Now Subrata will be coaching Srinjoy’s Bhawanipore FC. Subrata told www.xtratime.in , “Srinjoy is like my younger brother. Thus couldn’t say no to his offer. This won’t be the first time when I will handle a small team. It’s nothing new.” He added, “This is not a come back to me. I was here only, at my favourite Kolkata maidan.”

On the flip side, Bhowanipore’s top official Srinjoy Bose told, “The team was going through a torrid time. That’s why there was no other name came to my mind. We both love Mohun Bagan a lot and that’s why there was a problem. But at the same time, that issue shouldn’t last long.”

No doubt, Subrata’s arrival in Srinjoy’s club will send a significant message to Mohun Bagan club politics.
