XtraTime Web Desk – After struggling so much, Ole Gunner Solsjaer might have found a solution to his attacking problem. Antony Martial’s off form was a huge concern for Solsjaer but with Edinson Cavani’s performance today, the manager will be in a huge relief.
Man United was again struggling as Southampton struck twice before the half time. Jad Bednarek blew the first blow as he scored in the 23rd minute and then Ward-Prowse doubled Southampton’s lead in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, De Gea suffered an injury and in the half time he was replaced by Dean Henderson.
After a poor first half, many of the fans were not keeping any expectations from the red devils. To their surprise, Manu played quite well in the second half. Edinson Cavani came in as a sub and changed the complexion of the game. From Cavani’s assist, Bruno Fernandes scored in the 59th minute and kept Manu into the match. After Cavani’s brilliant performance, the fans will defiantly have a brand new song for him. However, the disappointing performance from their defence will still be a concern for Solsjaer.
On the other hand, the London Derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs ended 0-0. Both the teams failed to convert from chances they have created. Chelsea goalkeeper kept another clean sheet as Edouard Mendy now has 5 clean sheet from his 6 appearance. This also made him the goal keeper with the maximum number of clean sheets in the Premier League.
In other matches, West Bromwich Albion beat Sheffield United 1-0 and Wolves beat Arsenal 2-1.
