The British Coach submitted his resignation letter to the club in an unprecedented emotional farewell of the fans as he confessed, "The farewell I got, reminded me more of West Ham. East Bengal is my second home. I'm touched." Since then, he had never been in that dugout of a Kolkata derby. He had the first phase of contract with East Bengal till 31st August and thus couldn't been the part of the derby in the CFL. Though his former deputy Richard Dryden was in charge of the last derby, Mohun Bagan gave "walk over" to the Red and Gold brigade. Today, the East Bengal gaffer said, "It will be a test of the defense for both the sides." He added, "All the players know the importance of it." Meanwhile, East Bengal is a little bit concerned about the injury of star Caribbean Willis Plaza but Trevor said, "We will take a call on his fitness on Friday but my planning has been surrounded by three foreigners only." Though a good news for the fans as their fourth foreigner Chris Payne has got his visa done and will be joining the squad before the Kolkata derby. East Bengal won't have a training tomorrow and will be travelling with a 20 men squad for the Kolkata Derby as they have to play another game there against Shillong Lajong after that.
