Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal officials showed another disgraceful gesture towards their players, as their star players like Mehtab Hossain, Arnab Mondal, Narayan Das, Md Rafique and Subhasish Roy Chowdhury and Goalkeeping Coach Abhijit Mondal had to face terrible situations to come back to the city after losing against arch rivals Mohun Bagan in the Federation Cup semi-final. They players came from Cuttack with unreserved railway tickets in general compartments at Janastabdi Express and Indian national team players like Arnab Mondal, Md Rafique and Narayan Das didn’t even have the seats to relax after such a high-voltage encounter.

The things got worse when the Mohun Bagan fans identified the stars and started to take selfies with them. Narayan Das had to sit on the floor on his kitbag and Rafique, Samad, Abhijit Mondal and Arnab had no seats to get the comfort. Only Mehtab and Subhasish got the seats to relax a bit. The pictures became viral on social media as the Mohun Bagan fans started criticizing the officials of their arch rival club for that lacklustre attitude.

Though East Bengal midfielder Mehtab Hossain told www.xtratime.in , “The club is not responsible for this. We requested the Assistant coach to let us go, as we had office games. The club tried to arrange flight tickets for us at the last moment but couldn’t quite manage it. We were offered to go by a volvo bus but it could take around twelve hours to reach Kolkata. So, we decided to go by a train.”
