East Bengal gets their star footballer back from injury ahead of Chennai City game

Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal might breathe a huge sigh of relief as the Red and gold brigade will get their ace attacking force back in their next game on 12th March when they will play Chennai City FC away from home. Trevor Morgan’s team will get the service of their most consistent performer of the previous season back after almost five months. Bikash Jairu, the speedy left half of has returned back from injury and will be there in the squad for the game in the Southern Part of India. Bikash picked up an injury after the Calcutta Football League during his stint for the Hero Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata and was having his rehabilitation process in the last few months.

Bikash Jairu is known to be the most disciplined and hard working footballer in the Red and Gold camp and his availability will be a big boost for the East Bengal gaffer. Jairu told www.xtratime.in , “I’m really happy. It was tough to be out for so long. But I never stopped working hard and looking forward to the playing opportunity.”

In the twenty men squad for the Chennai trip, the East Bengal is making some significant changes, as Anwar Ali is leaving his place to Gurwinder Singh, Robin Gurung is going to be replaced by Narayan Das and the Assistant Coach Warren Hackett is not going and goalkeeping coach Abhijit Mondal is replacing him.

Meanwhile, East Bengal coach has once again fumed his anger against the officials for their dispute in the team build up process as he he has been struggling to get a quality replacement of Wedson Anselme, in an interaction with the media, Trevor said, “I have been trying to fill that void with a few options I have like Md Rafique and Chris Payne. But I can’t help it. My system doesn’t fit wingers but the officials have signed six wingers. So, I have limited choice.”

The East Bengal side would be desperate to get back to the winning ways to fuel their chances to clinch their maiden Hero I-League title.
