Dominant batting from Kohli & co. India sets a massive target for England

XtraTime Web Desk: India skipper Virat Kohli’s brilliant 23rd test ton today gave the visitors a massive advantage in the third test as they have given a target of 521 runs to win in front of England with two days still left in Nottingham test. In reply England has reached 23 without any loss at the end of day’s play. Alastair Cook (9*) and Keaton Jennings (13) were at the crease.




Earlier starting the day’s play on 124 for 2, Kohli and consolidated the innings with good pace. They shared a valuable partnership of 113 runs for the third wicket to take the visitors on a strong position. Pujara got out after scoring 72 runs. He edged a delivery of Ben Stokes and Alastair Cook didn’t do any wrong at the sleeps. Though Kohli continued his dominance against the English bowlers as he hit them through all parts of the ground. He completed his 23rd test ton in style by hitting a boundary on Chris Woakes delivery. After reaching to his ton he pointed his bat to the dressing room and to his lovely wife and Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma who was also present at the stands to cheer her husband. Though after his ton Kohli didn’t frustrate the English bowlers as he got out on a brilliant delivery of Chris Woakes. It was an in swinger and Kohli didn’t help his cause by shuffling across a lot. Wanted to flick it away, missed and got pinged on the pad. While batting he hit 10 remarkable boundaries as well through all parts of the ground.




Debutante Rishabh Pant didn’t do much in the second innings as he got out on just 1. After taking his five-for in against England last night, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya today dominated the English bowling with the bat as well. He scored 52 runs from just 52 deliveries and hit seven bounderies and a huge six as well. After Pandya’s half century Kohli decided to declare the innings.
