Kolkata: Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan’s star Haitian forward Sony Norde might not be coming to the City of Joy at the start of October to take part in the “Dada vs Diego” match which is scheduled to be held on October 5. Earlier this match was set to be played on October 2, but due to some Durga Puja festival and Muharram the organizers had to change the date.
Earlier the organizers of the tournament told that Sony would come to Kolkata to play that match, but with the present scenario the star Haitian might not come to Kolkata on that time. Haiti has a match with China on October 6 and with Japan on October 10. As Sony is a regular member of his national side there is not much chance that he would come to play the exhibition match in Kolkata leaving his national side.
According to Mohun Bagan team management they don’t know whether Sony would be coming to Kolkata before October 5 or not, it’s up to the organizers of the charity match. Sony will join the Mohun Bagan squad on October 15 for the forthcoming I-League season after the Green and Maroon Brigade returns playing the Sikkim Governors Gold Cup.
