Image Source : Xtra Time[/caption] Nagpur : Stand-in captain Ashok Dinda bowled a brilliant 19th over to help Bengal defeat Himachal Pradesh by 2 runs in a Group A encounter of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament in Nagpur on Monday. Batting first, Bengal posted 154 for six in 20 overs with Pramod Chandila smashing 70 off  39 balls that included nine boundaries and two sixes. Sudip Chatterjee contributed 42 off 39 balls. In reply, Bengal bowlers led by Dinda managed to restrict Himachal to 152 for three after 20 overs. Dinda had figures of 4-0-8-0 to show for his efforts. After 18 overs, Himachal were cruising along at 138 for three after 18 overs as they required 17 off the final two overs. Skipper Dinda gave only two runs off six deliveries as Nikhil Gangta could not dig out four consecutive deliveries bowled in the blockhole. Needing 15 off the last over, Prashant Chopra (71 no) managed 12 runs off rookie pacer Alok Pratap Singh's (2 for 28) over. “We needed to win this match. If we had lost today we would have been out of the tournament.” said Dinda. “Throughout the match I had been continuously giving tips and advices to my junior bowlers like Alok Pratap Singh. It paid off.” commented a relieved Dinda after the match . Bengal’s star performer with the bat Pramod Chandila  went in with a mindset to attack from the word go , “I went with a mindset to bat aggressively right from the start and it paid off  . That’s the only way you can rattle the opposition.” Amidst the good news , there was a slight concern in the Bengal dressing room . Pragyan Ojha injured his left shoulder while taking a catch and went off the field after having bowled 2 overs . Bengal must win the next 3 matches in a row if they are to have any realistic chance of making it to the qualifiers.
