Dhoni loses Crown to Kohli, Earns Captaincy of ICC T20 Team

Internet Desk: India’s Virat Kohli and West Indies’ Stephanie Taylor has been named men’s and women’s captains of the ICC World T20 teams respectively. Kohli who had an outstanding tournament scoring 273 runs in 5 innings helped India reach the semi finals before losing to champions West Indies. Stephanie Taylor produced an all round performance to guide her team to championship for the first time. Incidentally both Kohli and Taylor were declared the Player of the Tournament.

The ICC today announced the teams of the tournament for the men’s and women’s ICC World Twenty20 2016, which finished at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.

The men’s team, including 12th man, contained four players from England, two players each from India and the West Indies, and one each from Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand and South Africa, while the women’s team comprised four players from New Zealand, two players each from Australia, England and the West Indies, and one player each from Pakistan and South Africa.

Ashish Nehra is the only other Indian in T20 team of the tournament. Indian T20 captain MS Dhoni has failed to make the cut for the first time.

There is no Indian representative in the Women’s team of the tournament.
