Hjorring, Denmark: Durbar Sports Academy opened their campaign in the Dana Cup with a win against Elverum FB of Norway by a margin of 3-0. Ujjal Bag (13′), Kaushik Santra (21′) and Azhar Bhuniya (37′) are the goal scorers for Durbar Sports Academy in the regulation time of 50 minutes.
The players found it difficult to get adjust to the conditions in the beginning of the match a they had only two sessions of training on the astro turf. The adidas match ball was also very light for the players to get adjust as they trained with the cosco ball ahead of the match.
Durbar began with a 4-4-2 formation and gradually changed into 4-1-4-1 to get their defense more compact and stiff. The defense really played well as they were always behind the ball and did some smooth tackles.
The connection between the midfielders and forwards were well enough to get the three important goals but the scoreline could have been different if the strikers would not have missed some sitters.
After the match, the players went back to their school where they are residing and had a video analysis session with the coach Biswajit Majumdar and other supporting staff and they had seen their whole match in the projector to rectify the errors.
There are no injury concerns ahead of their next match against Stord FB of Norway in the evening at 5:30 p.m. Local time (9 p.m. IST) and the whole squad is fit and raring to go. The players are desperate to correct their mistakes from the first match and go into the next match with a fresh mind and want to win that too.
