XtraTime Web Desk - Chennaiyin vs FC Goa is one such match where everyone keeps an eye on! Just like any other rivalry, this too is one of the biggest in the history of Indian Super League.

From the very beginning, both the teams started really strong. Chennaiyin took an early lead and gave FC Goa the first blow. On the 5th minute mark, Rafael Crivellaro scored directly from the corner and gave Chennaiyin the lead. It was a tricky situation as all the Chennaiyin players charged towards the goal line and goalkeeper had very little space to do anything. A smart move from Chennaiyin made everyone happy only for couple of minutes as FC Goa equalised in the 9th minute mark.

Jorge Ortiz scored for the Gaurs. He started the move and its him who finished in style to bring back Goa into the match. He indeed brought Goa into the match but not into the game as Chennaiyin started dominating in this thrilling encounter. In the 12th minute, Anirudh Thapa's shot was then brilliantly saved by Nawaz which could have given Chennaiyin the lead in any other day. Just before half-time, Chhangte missed a sitter as he failed to convert in front of an almost open net. Chennaiyin created good number of chances in the first half but somehow they couldn't find the goal.

Just like in the first half, Chennaiyin started strongly in the second half as well. If not because of the missed chances, Chennaiyin could've scored at least two more times. But, fortune favours the brave. It's because of their offensive play, Chennaiyin got the most important goal as Rahim Ali scored for them.

It would have been a very happy day for Chennaiyin but on the 84th minute, Anirudh Thapa suffered an injury and had to be replaced. Even after that, Chennaiyin had a golden opportunity to score but it was again Chhangte who missed another great opportunity.
