Internet Desk: Mumbai Indians emerged as the champions of the tenth season of the IPL. MI created history when they became the first team ever to win the trophy thrice after they defeated Rising Pune Supergiant at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The end of this season’s IPL brings the end of the two year contract of Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions who replaced Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals two years back after the latter two were suspended on account of spot-fixing.

Once the IPL 2017 final between Pune and Mumbai ended, CSK’s official handled tweeted about their return to the league. “Next Summer, we will be there! #ManyHappyReturnsOfCSK” tweeted CSK. The handle also posted a picture of M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, CSK’s home ground, in next tweet.

CSK was under the leadership of MS Dhoni who won the IPL twice and also the Champions League T-20 twice which however is now discarded.

Most of the players of CSK and RR played for the new teams RSP and GL. MS Dhoni was the captain for RSP in their first season while Suresh Raina remained captain of GL for the past two seasons.

The main question that remains is whether CSK can bring back its star performers like Ashwin, Jadeja and Raina. Rajasthan Royals are yet to announce their participation for the next year’s tournament
