CFL 2018: Mohun Bagan desperate for full points against star-studded Tollygunge

Kolkata: Coming back from a disappointing draw against Peerless, Mohun Bagan coach Sankarlal Chakraborty feels that his side will not repeat the same mistakes they made in their last match against Peerless when they will take on Tollygunge Agragami in the Mohun Bagan Ground on Sunday in their Calcutta Football League.

Mohun Bagan saw their winning run cut short to three games when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Peerless last week. In  reality, Mohun Bagan were not clinical enough against Peerless. Though they looked comfortable on the ball and created a number of promising opportunities but ran out of ideas when they played in the final third of the pitch.

However, Shankarlal knows that it will not get any easier against Tollygunge, but he believes his side is more than capable of turning the corner.

“Tollygunge will be very difficult opponents, they play a possession game and they hold the ball well. The key to the match will be the midfield, we need to win the ball in those areas. We talked with the boys about the importance of this game. This is a match where we need to show character.”, Shankarlal Chakraborty added.

Tollygunge has been bolstered by two former Mohun Bagan foreigners Daniel Bidemi and Bayi Kamo, so the Bagan coach seems to be a bit circumspect about his approach.
