Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal today held a close-door practice session and will be facing Customs tomorrow in their home ground. Star forward Willis Plaza was specially trained by coach Khalid Jamil separated from the rest after the end of the training session where the striker practiced shooting practice to bring back his confidence in the game. Jamil was seen talking with the forward while leaving from practice.

“There is no reason to take any team lightly. Our opponent is a good team. We will be missing the services of captain Arnab Mondal and Md. Rafique however we have a large squad and I would rotate my players. After the first game we got rest for 3 days which will prove crucial for the next game as the players are well rested” said Khalid Jamil.

“Given an opportunity I would give my best” said Yami Longvah who has been a player for the club’s academy is yet to be featured in any game after getting a call to the senior team. The young lad from Manipur has been guided by Renedy Singh and was in the reserve team in the first game.

“We are yet to take any decision as of now. We will decide that later” said Debabrata Sarkar as East Bengal is in talks with a player from Honduras.

As per rumours East Bengal has set their eyes on arch rivals Mohun Bagan’s star foreigner Kamo for the upcoming I-League.

Kamo has a contract with the Mariners till the end of the CFL and as a result the Red and Gold brigade led by Khalid Jamil could rope in this foreigner to bolster their fire power.
