Kolkata: Defending champions East Bengal will begin their Calcutta Football League (CFL) season against NBP Rainbow AC. The East Bengal side was held to a 1-1 draw against the same opposition a few days back. But the newly promoted side will be having just a single foreigner against East Bengal on Saturday. Apart from Bernerd, the other foreigners are yet to get their international clearances. Their Coach Tarit Ghosh said, “It’s a new experience for us and our focus would be to fight as much as possible.”
Though East Bengal is looking to be a strong unit on paper and are desperate to forget the last pre season game to start their campaign on a winning note. Though they will be missing the services of Arnab Mondal and Md Rafique as they will be on for their national duties and will leave Kolkata tomorrow in the morning.
