Kolkata: With the biggest match of the season drawing near i.e. the Kolkata derby Mohun Bagan goalie Shiton Paul seems pretty confident about the upcoming match against their arch rivals East Bengal. The veteran player thinks both the teams are evenly matched and whoever performs better on that day will be the champions. As of now both the Kolkata giants are locked on same points with East Bengal having a upper hand on account of better goal difference.

“Derby is a different game altogether; one cannot predict who will win the game. We all have the target and are focused that we will have to win the game at any cost and win the league after a long span of 7 years” said Shilton Paul.

“Everyone plays of the club to win trophies, but unfortunately last year we missed out two important trophies i.e. I-League and the Fed Cup at the very last moment. So this year the target will be to min maximum trophies” said Shilton ob being asked how the Mariners remained trophy less last season.

“East Bengal are a good side and they have some good players who were retained from the last season. They also have certain amount of players who can change the game by coming as a substitute” Shiton added.

“They have Amna in the midfield who is one of the most important players of the squad and he controls the entire midfield. However our young midfielders are good too. Reynar, Surchandra and Shiton can also change the game” said Shilton when he was questioned about the most important player of East Bengal.
