Mohammedan conceded a goal in the first half and then conceded the other 3 in the second half. Patha Chamra who held their pre-season campaign in this particular ground knew the ground conditions very well and comfortably defeated the giants. The first goal of the game came in the 36th minute of the game when Joel Sunday scored for his side. Mohammedan defence line of Pronit Lama, Rana Gharami and Ricky appeared to be confused as to who will be clearing and ultimately Pronit’s clearance hit the face of Sunday and ended at the back of the net. The first half ended with the score of 1-0 for Patha Chakra. Despite being well composed Mohammedan failed to score. 58th minute saw a brilliant corner from Babon Das and as usual the defence is to be blamed again for being in a straight line and Monotosh Chakladar came from behind to grab a brilliant opportunity headed his side to a 2-0 lead. After conceding two goals, the Black panthers took charge of the game and in the 63rd minute Dipanda Dicka who was the highest scorer of last season’s I-League scored for his side. Dicka double his tally in the 67th minute when a brilliant free-kick saw the ball ending at the back of the net. Despite being back in the game the giants couldn’t hold onto their momentum as 70th minute saw Budhiram Tudu’s cross reach the opponent’s box and a grounder shot from Babon Das went past Shankar Ray and took the score to 3-2. In the 83rd minute Mohammedan was awarded a corner; however the team went into confusion as to who would take it, and grabbing the opportunity Shankar Orao stretched out wide in the wing and landed the ball in the opposite box which was calmly finished by Babon Das who scored his brace in the game. Babon Das was adjudged the man of the match for his brace and an assist.
