CFL 2017: Kamo’s devastating show outclasses Patha Chakra

Kolkata: Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan registered their third consecutive victory in Calcutta Football League today as they beat a good team like Patha Chakra 5-2, thanks to their star forward Kamo who scored four goals for the Mariners at their club ground today. At one stage the home side was down to a goal but the combination of Kamo and Kromah just destroyed the Patha Chakra defence to hand their side its third consecutive victory in the League. Few Bagan supporters were seen throwing bottles in the ground when the Green and Maroon Brigade was losing, but the all-round show of the hosts made each fans happy at the end of the game.

Nadong Bhutia broke the deadlock for the visitors as he scored the opener in the 15th minute of the game through a corner from Babun Das. Though their lead only lasted for nine minutes as Kamo equalized for the hosts in the 24th minute of the game. Kamo received a pass from his teammate Kromah and didn’t do any wrong to put the ball into the net. Kamo doubled the lead for Bagan on the 43rd minute of the game. He received a ball from Ricky and scored a stunner from half-turn. As the game progressed the Green and Maroon Brigade showed more intent on the field. In the 61st minute of the game Chesterpaul received a ball from Azharuddin Mullick, and passed it to Kromah, who increased the lead for the Mariners.

Mohun Bagan’s star forward Kamo completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute of the game. Bagan goal-keeper Shilton Paul made two brilliant saves today. Mohun Bagan defender Arijit Bagui fouled Patha Chakra player Snehasis inside the penalty box during the 79th minute of the game and the referee awarded a penalty shot to Patha Chakra. The Green & Maroon goal-keeper Shilton Paul saved the shot by Sunday but due to some error the referee again said Patha Chakra to take the penalty again, but Sunday hit the ball over the bar. Later in the 89th minute of the game Kamo scored his fourth and the team’s fifth goal of the night with a brilliant finish. Just a minute before the end of the game Sunday scored a goal for the visitors to reduce the difference to 5-2.
