Sabyasachi Bagchi: It was 26 years ago, on March 25, 1992. Each and every Pakistanis eyes was fixed to the TV screens. England against Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the first innings, the Pakistan captain played a brilliant innings. Then, in the second innings, the British later fell short to 22 runs from the target. The truimphant 40 year old Captain Imran Khan, with the cup in hand announced, "I will fulfill my long dream of coming in the twilight of life, dream of making a cancer hospital in the name of my mother." Yes, this is the proverbial Imran Khan. A dream moment, or even earlier, who started effortlessly in the next dream. He created Pakistan's first Cancer Specialty Hospital, in memory of his mother and the main driving force behind these dreams was - Imran's final confidence. His Insistent mind. So, after a long 22-year-long struggle, Imran Khan started his second innings as 'Captain'. It was decided by Pakistan's 21 million population. Shahid Hashmi, a well known senior cricket journalist for AFP, had known Imran very closely since the 1980s. Pakistan's new Prime Minister's friend, from Karachi, told XtraTime, in an exlusive interview through WhatsApp, "He has the ability to fight hard, he is very strong and persistent, he is fighting for 22 years in Pakistan political scene just because he is Imran Khan. "New Pakistan" will be born very quickly by the people's trust, and Imran has worked for the country. We will try to remove the so called bad image of our country from the face of the world. " Leaving out Nawaz Sharif's party PML-N and Benazir Bhutto's PPP have, the neighboring country is waving Imran's PTI's flag (Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf). But politician Imran is not credible for India. Because he supports the Taliban. Even before the election, the violent anti-India line took up. In a public meeting, Imran said, "Narendra Modi, you must be clear, not all Pakistanis but Nawaz Sharif, for the sake of the country, we will stand by the side of the army." But Shahid Hashmi's claims that Imran has been misrepresented a number of times. He said, "There is a propaganda against him, that is why the news is saleable, but for years I can say that because of his identity, India will be benefitted because Imran always has a pro-India mentality, especially with Kolkata, he has a different emotional bond. " Naturally, the question is, what will actually happen in the development of cricket relations between the two countries after the former Pakistan captain occupies the governing hot seat. Will he be able to bridge the battles of the 11 yards to the 'South Block?' Shahid Hashmi, who has accompanied Pakistan's cricket team for more than three decades, claimed that he had a talk in WhatsApp a few days before the election, and that matter was being discussed with him that Imran will certainly try to improve the cricket relations, but first of all comes the financial and social sectors. But most importantly Imran had to deal with the internal problems and the biggest headache is to counter terrorism. Since the general elections in Pakistan have started since 1970, the army still controls democracy there. The Modi government thinks that like the leaders of the country's past leaders, Imran is also a soldier's hand puppet. As a former captain, he might have started his second innings as the 'captain', but the real 'selector' is always the ISI. So, after Imran came to power, would he like to take anti-India slogan like others? Because, however, the Pak army never believed in maintaining friendship with India. Shahid said, "The Pak army is controlling this election and Imran, is half-truth." The ISI and Pak army did not participate fully in this election, other wise former Major General, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan would not have been defeated in this election, even the notorious terrorist Hafiz Saeed and his candidates. Because the Pak army and the terrorists are not to be tolerated. That is why Prime Minister Imran will come in terms with the ISI in the near future so that an atmosphere of friendship can be built between the two countries. Political careers are at a peak now. Yet, 66-year-old Imran still keeps in touch with the news of his country's cricket. He is very much aware of Pakistan's sport culture especially the good for nothing members of the PCB. Therefore, Shahid said, " Najam Sethi's overractness is because of Nawaz Sharif, but knowing that in the next few months, Imran will also pitch the PCB as all powers will be given to Zakir Khan as the head of PCB for the sake of the development of Pakistan." "So if Nazmeth Sethi is removed in the future, then I would not be surprised at all. " Imran created in 1996, 'Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'. A year later, the party did not win a seat in the polls. Imran also lost. Then he went onto digest all sorts of bouncers from political and personal life in. He broke up with Jemima Gold Smith after a long 9-year married relationship. The second marriage with Reham Khan did not last more than ten months. Imran's old friend Shahid Hashmi said, "Just 15 days before the election, Reham wanted to heat up the market by publishing a book where she tried to degrade his image. But look at her first wife, she has wished him all the best for Imran's new endeavour. This shows the love and respect she still has for him". It was really a nice gesture from former spouse Jemaima. She tweeted, "For the last 22 years, he has to go through a period of disgrace. After fighting his way, the father of my two sons is now the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Your immense willpower has brought you here. Lots of best wishes and Congratulations."
