Conceiving a draw against Mumbai Cricket Association Bengal reached the first final of this pre-season practice tournament. The score Bengal made in the first innings made the win easy for the team. Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary led the team batting line-up with a century to reach a 400 plus score. Bengal bowlers bowled good line and length to pick up all the ten wickets of a star studded batting line-up of Mumbai. Bengal got down to bat for the second innings today. They lost two wickets also. However, those falls of wickets did not matter as they were leading by 111 runs till the end of today’s match. Having a lead in the first innings Bengal were ahead of Mumbai and got the all important points to go to the finals. It is the Bengal bowlers who fulfilled the job left undone by their skipper and Abhimanyu Easwaran in the first innings. In the first innings Mukesh Kumar bowled a good spell to help Bengal. He took three wickets giving 77 runs. He was the most economic among all the bowlers. In the final they will be facing the KSCA XI. That would not be an easy match for the Bengal. The KSCA XI scored 655/7 in their first innings to make their semi-final match draw.
