London , December 15 : Usain Bolt will appear at next years anniversary games in London’s Olympic Park from July 22-23, two weeks before the Rio Olympic , according to the IAAF. Bolt will compete in London Diamond League .
Bolt took part in the event this year winning the 100m race. There is a large number of Jamaican population in London and Bolt is confident that they would come in large numbers to support him.
“I know the athletics fans in London are very knowledgeable and passionate about track and field and will come out in force and create a great atmosphere like they always do,” Bolt, who spends more time in Great Britain than anywhere outside of Jamaica, said in a press release. “I first competed in the London Grand Prix in 2005 when the event was in Crystal Palace. This will be my ninth time to compete in a city I know very well. There are a lot of Jamaicans living in the UK and I always get great support – it is like my home away from home.”
Bolt last took part in the World Championships in Beijing in August. He won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in Beijing. The Jamaican beat Justin Gatlin who had just returned from two doping offences in 2011.
