Kolkata , December 26 : Bengal’s three most talented cricketers Sudip Chatterjee , Aamir Gani and Mukesh Kumar have been called for a trial by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians . The reigning IPL champions will be having a three day trials at Motera stadium in Ahmedabad from December 27-29 . The trials will be attended by some 100 candidates . Mumbai Indians coached John Wright and Rahul Sanghvi will be taking the trials . MI mentor Sachin Tendulkar might also drop in any of these 3 days . Bengal coach Sairaj Bahutule organized the trials for Sudip , Gani and Mukesh . During a recent visit to Mumbai , Bahutule had a word with Sanghvi about these three talented cricketers from Bengal . In fact Gani got a call from Sanghvi to attend the trials , while he watched Sudip bat in the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Bengal at Kotla . Although it is a three day trials , the Bengal trio have been allowed to attend the trials for the first two days only .
Sudip , who had an outstanding season for Bengal in Ranji so far feel quite challenging ,“ It will be very challenging for me to switch over from the four day mode to T20 mode . You have to attack from the word go in this format , and any lapse in concentration might lead to your downfall .” Sudip is exited with the prospect of Sachin dropping in at the trials ,“ It will be a huge bonus for me is Sachin is at the trials .”
For Aamir Gani though the trials do not matter much to him as he knows age is in his side . “I am not thinking too far ahead . If I do well , it’s fine . It will be a huge honour for me to play alongside a legend like Harbhajan Singh , but I have to make the cut first .” Out of the 100 candidates , only a lucky four or five will be selected .
Another guy to get the call up is Mukesk Kumar . He have so far had an outstanding season for Bengal , including the five-for he got against Haryana . Mukesh owes a lot to Bengal’s bowling coach Ranadeb Bose ,“ I wouldn’t have got a call up , had I not been selected by Ranadeb at the Vision 20-20 camp . ” Sanghvi had asked for Mukesh’s bowling action video
