File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: In a fresh twist to ongoing standoff with Lodha Panel, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sought the panel’s opinion as to who will pay the accommodation and travel bills for the England team as they travel to India to take part in a five match test series starting next month. In accordance with Supreme Court order, the board has asked the panel to give their opinion before signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The Board in a letter to the panel wants to know if they will ask the ECB to pay their accommodation and travel bills during their stay in India. It is a general practice followed by the respective boards to pay for the hotel stay, travelling and other things of the visiting team during a bilateral series. As England will be visiting India to take part in the series, it would have been BCCI’s turn to take care of all the arrangements and logistics. But with the ongoing controversy the Board wants to be very clear before signing the MoU. In a letter to the Lodha panel, the BCCI has also sought guidance on, among other things, how to pay the players and officials currently participating in the Ranji Trophy and other board tournaments, and make arrangements for their travel and accommodation as the Supreme Court has ordered the board not to release the funds to those bodies which haven’t implemented the committee’s recommendations. Many associations, such as Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Goa, had requested the board to release their share of the funds so that they could conduct various tournaments in their region. As the Ranji Trophy matches is being organized in neutral venues this season, so the host association has to bear the expenses of both teams.
