File Pic.[/caption] Hyderabad: The much anticipated first test match between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad will not be named after former captains Sourav Ganguly and Naimur Rahman Durjoy. The Trophy for the one off test match between the two countries to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal is likely not to be named after former captains, according to BCCI sources. Earlier, it was heard that in order to mark the historic occasion the trophy will be named after the first captains of both the countries. Both Sourav Ganguly and Naimur Rahman Durjoy lead their respective countries in the first ever test match played at the Dhaka in 2000. Much like the Border-Gavaskar trophy (series named between India and Australia) which will be followed immediately after the one-off test against Bangladesh, the series was anticipated to be named after the former captains from both neighboring countries. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is tight-lipped on the subject. One can assume that the recent storm surrounding the Supreme Court orders on Lodha-BCCI stand-off has led to the board in not being able to think about naming the series. This will be the first contest between the two sides in Test format since India’s tour to Bangladesh in 2015. The one-off Test during that series ended in a draw, after rain halted the proceedings. Both the countries have so far played 8 test matches between them with India dominating the outcome. India has so far won 6 test matches with two failing to give a result. The visitors will be playing their first test match on India soil starting from Thursday.
