Image Source: Xtra Time[/caption] Internet Desk: After grabbing the historical Federation Cup 2016 title for the 14th time thumping Aizawl FC 5-0, Mohun Bagan officials did not waste much of the time in celebration. Bagan officials, Srinjoy Basu and Debashis Dutta present in Guwahati to cheer the team had a discussion with some of the players whom they would like to retain for the upcoming season. Haitian International Sony Norde is the first one in the list to sit for the discussion. Sony Norde who played the last match for the Mariners this season will be leaving for Haiti tonight at 9 p.m. to join his national side for the Copa America preparations. It is learnt that Sony Norde did not give any confirmation to the Bagan officials about his come back as he has good offers from East Bengal and Bengaluru FC. Although, the Haitian made it clear he will come back to India in the ISL and they play the I-league as he is not willing to play the CFL like the last season. Sony said, "I have always said if I play in India my first choice would always be Mohun Bagan but as I am a professional player, I have to look into other matters too. Lets see what happens." While Sony said so, Bagan assistant secretary, Srinjoy Basu said something different. he said, " We had a discussion with Sony. Its too early to give any speculation but he has promised us that he will don the green and maroon colours once more. We will have several discussions in future and as we all know Sony won't play the CFL, he will participate only in the I-League and the Fed Cup after ISL. So there is a lot of time to discuss on this issue." To elaborate on this issue, Sony Norde promised the Bagan officials last time too that he will come back but at one point of time Sony was highly uncertain at Mohun Bagan and rumours were he would go back to Mexico again. But Sony joining Mohun Bagan was surrounded in darkness and at one point of time Bagan officials too lost hope on him and this resulted in the Haitian joining the Bagan squad late in the I-League after two matches were already over. Sony signed for Bagan when a top official of Mohun Bagan from Dubai agreed to pay him the required advance.
