The Serbian earlier went through a whole court procedure after his Visa was cancelled earlier before it was ordered by the Australian court to return his Visa.

And stating about revoking Djokovic’s Visa, Australian Immigration minister Alex Hawke said, “Today I exercised my power under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act to cancel the visa held by Mr Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so. The Government is firmly committed to protecting Australia’s borders, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Under the section of the Migration Act which Hawke used to exercise his power to cancel the visa, the Serbian won’t be able to secure a visa to come to Australia for a time period of three years, except in compelling situations that affect Australia’s interest.

Djokovic, the defending champion, was included in the draw on Thursday as top seed and was on course to face Miomir Kecmanovic for his opening clash.
