Kolkata: Two times’ champions of the Hero Indian Super League ATK, seems to have their confusions continue. Even the owners seem to have confounded the original name of the club, such has been the situation of the club. The mid match interview of co-owner Sourav Ganguly has been a prime example of that incident.
During the last game, when the Prince of Calcutta was invited for a mid-match chat, Ganguly was seen wearing a jacket with the emblem of “Atletico de Kolkata” written on it. No doubt, the incident created a huge buzz among the football enthusiasts of the country. If the owners themselves are confused about the original name of the team, then what will happen to the people who are going to watch the games. The media manager himself always stays in the hind side and as expected, the critics have pointed their fingers towards him only. Unfortunately, no statement came from him on this occasion as well like it always happens.
Even the official mail id for the newsletter subscriptions is also named as goal@atleticodekolkata.vom and even the official website is also there at the name of www.atleticodekolkata.com .
A few months back, the principal owner of the team Mr.Sanjeev Goyenka himself made the official announcement by saying, “We are no more Atletico de Kolkata from now on and the name of the club is only ATK.”
Unfortunately, the activities and the mentioned aspects are narrating an entirely different story, where it’s hard to find the expected professionalism from this ISL franchise.
